Whether you are moving because you are offered a job, or for personal reasons, moving is never easy.  Across the United States, people have been migrating to urban areas in the last several years, but there are those whose priorities are not big, fancy cities. If you are following some real estate information platforms, you may know that cities where some new companies have recently opened and thus where there are many new job positions are the most popular ones.

First city that we are going to mention is Oregon. It is stated that this is the most popular moving destination in the last several years. The state has continued to climb the ranks especially over the past six years with the increasing migration by 10 percent. In spite of the income taxes that are above the average and its cool climate, Oregon is known for its beautiful scenery and for being a wine country. The significant tax advantage to living in Oregon is that there is no sales tax.

Florida is home to many cities that are prosperous, like Jacksonville. This big city gives you job opportunities if you are looking for a new job position. It has posted a 3.8% job growth in 2016, which makes it one of the healthiest places for employment opportunities. Apart for being great for work, if you are a water lover this place is your dream come true. It has access to the Atlantic Ocean, the Intracoastal Waterway, the St. Johns River and several small lakes. Be prepared for a lot of activities on water like, surfing, fishing, whatever you choose.

Fort Myers is another place in Florida that is very much worth considering. The community is quickly growing and it is obvious why. Some people who live here like to say: “We live where you vacation.” The cost of living in Fort Myers is five percent below the national average. And, as stated above, Florida has no state income tax which means you get to keep more of your hard-earned money. What’s more the price of homes sold in Fort Myers in the past year was 100,000 dollars less than the national median price.

Colorado Springs is placed just close to mountains but not exactly in them, which offers a perfect view.  If you prefer skiing to sunbathing, Colorado is the place for you. It has a mild climate year round which is perfect if you are outdoor lover, because you have so many options. The city’s affordable housing and high job growth are also one of the main reasons that Colorado Springs are on our list. It is also a home to the U.S, Olympic Committee and has a nickname Olympic City. You might run into some Olympians, maybe some celebrity athletes if you move to the Springs.

Charleston in South Carolina is among the top 10 cities to live in the U.S. Companies like Boeing and Volvo have brought ton of employment opportunities to this town. Homes are also still affordable, thanks to the low interest rates. It is full of restaurants and bars. Chucktown or “The Chuck” is full of history and character. It hosts the yearly festival which is celebration of art, music and theater. Speaking of theater, it is also a home to America’s first theater, The Dock Theater, opened in 1736.

If you are looking for affordable house prices and low cost of living, San Antonio is the answer to your prayers. Jobs are also on the rise with the industry leaders such as USAA and Toyota. Average sale price here is still lower than the national average, but it won’t be for long. If you are thinking of buying a house in San Antonio, now is the time. As for the jobs, San Antonio has an unemployment rate below the national average and below the state average. This thriving city is also expected to see job growth of about 3% with the approximately 30,000 more jobs added. The weather can vary sometimes, but there are approximately 300 days of sunshine per year. Summers are hot, winters are mild and spring is usually wet.

The next city on our list is the biggest city in Texas, Houston. In 2016, Houston was the second fastest growing city in the nation. It is a home to 26 Fortune 500 companies, which is more than any city except New York, and it was on Forbes’ list of Best City for Jobs four years consecutive (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015). Even though it is still an oil and energy centre, there are industries in biotechnology, informational technology, aerospace, healthcare and hospitality that are flourishing. With a median salary of more than 66,000 dollars, Houston is one of the highest paying cities in the nation. Whether you want to buy a house or to rent an apartment, Houston is the right place for you since one of its advantages is affordable housing.

There are so many reasons to consider before you make a move, and here are just some cities. The main decision is up to you, because no one knows better than you what suits your needs. However, moving to another city can really help you learn more about yourself and bring you and your family members closer together. You will never know whether one of your children wants to be a deep sea fisherman or surfer if you are a thousand miles from the sea; or whether you find a new hobby, like skiing. Yes, sure you can experience all this by travelling, but living in a different place will give you more adventures and new perspective on life.
